Steve Holden announced that EWT and CCP (both companies that have vested interests in Python being fast) are sponsoring select members of the Python community to be in Iceland for a week to sprint on various speedups for CPython and PyPy.
Pretty cool to have a sponsored sprint. They have a list of things they would like to see implemented, and most of them are reasonable for inclusion in the core. In other words they are not so specific to the sponsor companies to probably cause issue for any sprinters who only want to code on things that will help the Python community in general.Read more at groups.google.com/group...
